Core subjects & elementary
- Core Subjects EC–6 / STR
- Requires 12 credits including English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Core Subjects EC–6 / STR — Bilingual or ESL Supplemental
- The EC–6 core route with a bilingual or ESL supplemental certificate.
- Core Subjects 4–8 / STR
- Requires 15 credit hours including English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
English language arts
- English Language Arts 4–8 / STR
- Requires six hours of upper-division coursework in English, reading, speech, and communication, including composition and literature. Limited to grades 7 and 8.
- English Language Arts & Social Studies 4–8
- Limited to grades 7 and 8.
- English Language Arts 7–12
- Requires 12 credit hours lower-division and 12 credit hours upper-division.
- English as a Second Language Supplemental
- Supplemental certificate.
Mathematics
- Mathematics 7–12
- Requires 12 credit hours of upper-division coursework.
- Mathematics 4–8
- Requires 18 semester hours, six of them upper-division.
- Mathematics & Science 4–8
- Combined mathematics and science certificate. Limited to grades 7 and 8.
Science
- Science 7–12
- Requires 18 hours of upper-division coursework in biology, physics, chemistry, geology, or astronomy.
- Science 4–8
- Requires six hours of upper-division biology.
- Life Science 7–12
- Grades 7 through 12.
Social studies
- Social Studies 7–12
- Requires 18 hours of upper-division coursework in economics, history, geography, political science, sociology, or psychology.

Languages, arts & specialist areas
- Languages Other Than English — Spanish EC–12
