Steps Overview
Admission
Apply and receive a letter of admission so you can begin your job search.
Pre‑Service (21 Weeks)
Evening & Saturday coursework; complete 30 clock hours of field experience.
Testing Readiness
Prepare for Content exams and PPR with guided study and practice.
Placement
Secure a position with a partner district and obtain your Intern/Probationary certificate.
Paid Internship
Teach as the teacher of record; receive 5 observations with feedback over ~10 months.
Certification
Finish testing, complete all program requirements, and earn full certification.

Admission & Enrollment
Submit transcripts and required documents. On admission, you can begin seeking a campus placement.

Pre‑Service Training (≈21 Weeks)
Pedagogy, classroom management, TEKS‑aligned planning, assessment, and reading/writing strategies. Includes 30 clock hours of field experience.

Testing Milestones
Prepare for Pearson Content and PPR exams with program resources and coaching.

Placement & Certificate
When hired as teacher of record, obtain an Intern/Probationary certificate and start the internship year.

Paid Internship & Mentoring
Five formal observations with coaching cycles; district PD (≈50 hours) during the year.

Certification & Beyond
Upon completion, earn full certification. A second year of mentoring is available upon request.
