Program cycle
The route a candidate travelled through the program: admission, pre-service training, state examinations, placement, a paid internship, and recommendation for a standard Texas certificate.
Seven stages
Every candidate moved through the same stages in the same order. Some stages overlapped in practice, particularly exam preparation, which ran alongside both pre-service coursework and the internship itself.
Transcripts reviewed against the intended certification area, an admission interview, and an enrollment agreement.
National criminal history fingerprinting through the Texas Education Agency, completed before any classroom placement.
Twenty-one weeks of coursework and seminars, plus thirty clock hours of field-based experience in real classrooms.
Content-area examination and the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities exam, with program preparation throughout.
Placement assistance with partner districts. Once hired, the candidate received an Intern or Probationary certificate.
A full year as teacher of record, with five formal observations, mentor support, and coaching cycles.
On successful completion of the internship and all examinations, the program recommended the candidate for a standard Texas certificate.
Across a school year
The internship was not a placement and a signature. It carried a fixed rhythm of observation, feedback, and documented growth from the first week to the last.

Candidates who completed the internship and passed all required examinations were recommended to the Texas Education Agency for a standard certificate in their area. Certification is issued by TEA, and its renewal and continuing education requirements are administered by the agency, not by the preparation program.

The program is closed. These pages are kept online as a public reference for former candidates, partner districts, and anyone verifying how the program operated. Reported certification exam pass rates for the program's final four reporting years are published in full.
